Where Your Information Is Processed
FlyGuys operates in British Columbia. Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Where that happens, your information may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and authorities in those jurisdictions under their laws.
SMS Messaging
When you provide your mobile phone number and opt in during booking, we use it to send transactional SMS messages about your booking. This includes booking confirmations, status updates, photo confirmations and communications from your driver. SMS messages are delivered through our messaging provider, Klaviyo.
Message frequency varies based on your booking activity. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or get help by replying HELP.
No mobile information, including phone numbers and SMS opt-in data, will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. All the categories listed in “How We Share Information” above exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent. This information will not be shared with any third party other than the messaging provider strictly necessary to deliver the messages you have requested.
Marketing Communications
If you sign up through a form on our website, such as an offer for a discount on your first shuttle, we add your email address and any details you provide to our marketing list. We use Klaviyo, a service of Klaviyo, Inc., to store this information, send marketing emails about FlyGuys offers, news and services, and record whether you open or click those emails so we can improve them.
We send marketing email only with your consent, in line with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation. We use confirmed (double) opt-in, so you confirm your subscription before we send marketing messages. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link and you can opt out at any time. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages about a booking you have made.
Our website also uses Klaviyo onsite tracking to recognize return visitors and to measure how our forms and pages perform. This sets cookies and collects usage information as described under “Cookies” below.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and measure site usage. Strictly necessary cookies such as session and CSRF cookies cannot be disabled. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time, though this may affect how the site works.
We use Google Analytics (Google LLC) and Klaviyo to understand how visitors find and use our website. These services set their own cookies and collect usage information such as pages viewed, referring site, approximate location and device type. We do not use this information to identify you personally. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Data Retention
We retain account and booking information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
Your Rights
You may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask us to correct it. You may also withdraw your consent to our use of your information, subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. To exercise these rights, reach us through our contact form, or, if you are signed in, send a request through the app. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards such as encryption in transit, hashed passwords and role-based access to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service is intended for users 19 years of age and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or by posting a notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
